It was another hot one! Not that I’m complaining about all this nice weather... but I am! The ground is getting too hard! So do your rain dance people 🤣🕺🏻🌧

Dressage: the warm up area was atrocious! It was rock solid, on a slope and there were two trees to dodge as well as other riders! So I rode okay.... someone decided to start trail running to get fit and ‘unfat’ the day before 🤦‍♀️my legs were pretty damn sore. Not to mention my very peed off stomach from 2 weeks of Antibiotics (aka anti Lymes Disease stuff!). Mills was very good with the occasional side glance “what’s over there” style! The ground was rock, perfectly flat but I could here clip clop all the way round! We did what I call a ‘safe test’. Amazingly it put us in 2nd with a 29.

There were 2 1/2 hours before we went to SJ. I got Milly sorted and settled and then found myself stuck with my arms behind my back trying to get my stock shirt off! I actually strained a rhomboid 🤣. Because it was soaked from sweating in a jacket and....’ahem’ a little tight it took some serious wiggling to get out of it!

SJ: we actually did okay! I was shouting in my head into every fence “sit back” and surprise surprise Milly jumped reasonably well! We had one pole down which was the slightest roll, so as much as it pains me to say “an unlucky pole”.... I’m saying it! We’re a working progress and it’s all good.

XC: Love It! Milly Loves it! No real questions on the course from our point of view. We did get close to a lot of them and I think that was because the ground was hard and she was feeling it. She was still very gung oh though! I’ve decided I need new riding boots or stirrups or both. I’m not quite happy with them as feel like I’m barefoot at times, but then they are Ariat children’s Bromonts! (They for my short arse legs!). Anyway we finished clear and 1 second in the time.

The Team are off to the Champs and I was 3rd individually. Thank you to Corinne Waugh, Kate Fisher and Lucy Counsel for their great performances.

A big thank you to Kate Steenson for popping along to groom for me. Pleasure to have such an experienced horsewoman at my side, even if you did find my step ladder hilarious!! Thank you Becci Hadley for bringing on our Dressage. Thank you to Joe for sorting (well, we’re nearly there!) my SJ out. Thank you to Mind Ninja Kim for your excellent coaching.
